Q. Will the surgeon always know which procedure I need at the time of the consultation?
A. No not always. In some cases there is an abnormally large amount of fatty tissue present which will mask the actual amount of glandular tissue present. It will not be until all the fatty tissue is removed by suction that the surgeon will be in a position to judge if it will be necessary to make a further incision around the areola in order to resect (cut out) the excess glandular tissue.
