A. Yes, Radiesse™ is fully approved in Europe (with CE-certification) and in the U.S. (FDA clearance).
Q. How long will Radiesse™ last?
A. Radiesse™ correction lasts 12 months or longer in many patients. Individual results may vary, and can be affected by age, skin type, lifestyle and muscle activity. Longevity can also differ per treatment area.
Q. What if I’m taking medication?
A. If you are taking medication, even if they are non-prescription, please inform the surgeon as it may influence your treatment.
Q. Does it hurt?
A. Patients may react differently, so please check with the surgeon about pain management options during the procedure.
Q. Are there any side effects?
A. You may experience some common injection related reactions, like swelling, discomfort, itching, discolouration and tenderness at the injection site, usually subsiding after a few hours or days.
Q. Is Radiesse™ permanent?
A. No, the gel carrier dissolves within a few months and the structural microspheres are broken down over the following months through the body’s natural processes.
Q. Can Radiesse™ be injected over other implants?
A. If you have previously been injected with other fillers or if you have had permanent implants inserted, please notify and consult the surgeon.
Q. Will Radiesse™ become hard or noticeable to touch?
A. No, Radiesse™ stays soft and pliable and will take on the characteristics of the body’s own tissue.
