FAQs
(Frequently Asked Questions about Fat Transfer Treatment)

Q.     If the fat transfer technique is so good why use synthetic substances?

A.     Although the fat transfer (lipotransfer) technique is excellent, results can be unpredictable in inexperienced hands and complications are more likely to occur. It must be remembered that this is an operative procedure which takes longer to complete and relies on the transplanted fat gaining a blood supply in order for it to continue to thrive.

The recipient site is overcorrected initially and will be swollen for a few days. Infection can occasionally occur and is readily treated with antibiotics.
