Dermal & Facial Fillers - Permanent but Removable Implants

Before Permanent but Removable Implants Treatment

Introduction to Removable Implants Treatment

A permanent (but removable) implant comes prepared as a solid material which can be carved/modified in size and shape. The advantages of a removable implant are:

1. It will not react with human tissue.
2. O
nce placed under the skin, it can be readily removed.

Silicone is available as a removable implant because it is a non-toxic, inert material which is readily accepted by the body. Silicone implants are available in solid strips or tubes which can be inserted (implanted) under the skin to fill out furrows.

The Dublin Cosmetic Surgery Centre has performed this procedure on many women & men in over 20 years.

Silicone removable implants can be used to:

• Reduce naso-labial (nose to mouth) furrows
• Enlarge Upper & Lower lips

Factors to Consider Before Removable Implants Treatment

Permanent implants have been available for many years and have an excellent record. The important fact to remember is that the result is permanent but should a problem ever arise the implant can be removed.

You will need to take a day off work after the removable implants procedure.

The Removable Implants Treatment Consultation

At the preoperative consultation you will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire before you see the surgeon. After reviewing your medical history, the surgeon will specifically discuss the concerns that you have about the proposed treatment area and what you wish to achieve with removable implants.

After examining you, the surgeon will outline what can be achieved with treatment and give you a detailed explanation of the removable implants procedure, the likely results and the usual course of postoperative events. The surgeon will also answer any questions that you may have about the removable implants procedure.

At the end of your consultation, you will be issued with detailed written information about the removable implants procedure which you are strongly advised to read carefully at home. If you have any further queries/concerns, these can be discussed with the surgeon at a further consultation.
