Day of Excess Sweating Treatment

An important factor to be fully aware of before an excess sweating treatment procedure is:

Driving: You will be able to drive home after the procedure but we thoroughly recommend that you are driven home by someone.

The surgeon will answer any final questions/queries you may have about the excess sweating treatment procedure.

The Excess Sweating Treatment

An excess sweating treatment procedure usually takes 20 minutes and no anaesthetic is usually required.

The area to be treated is painted with iodine solution. The sweat glands take up the iodine and appear as brown spots indicating the sites where the injections should be given. A series of injections are then administered at the appropriate sites.

Ice packs are applied afterwards to reduce swelling.
