FAQs
(Frequently Asked Questions about Lip Enlargement Treatment)

Q.     Will I end up looking abnormal like some well known celebrities after a Lip Enlargement treatment?

A.    There is no reason for this to happen provided the right materials are used and the procedure performed by a competent practitioner. Long lasting injectable fillers should be avoided in those who are specific in their requirements as to the maximum size they wish to have their lip enhanced otherwise they will have to wait a long time for the filler to biodegrade. If an implant is too large and is causing distress it can be readily changed for a smaller one.

Q.     Can I have a permanent result with injectable filler?

A.    This is possible but NOT recommended. Permanent fillers should NOT be used in the face let alone the lips. The reason is that they have a tendency to migrate in the fullness of time as well as cause reactions resulting as lumps which can often be readily felt as well as seen. In addition the lips can become hard and have been described as “carp lips”. Removing permanent fillers from lips is a very risky procedure and invariably ends up with unfavourable scarring as well as deformities.
